Despicable Me 4 will be coming out in 2024 as Illumination and Universal announced earlier this week. It is set to come out on the July 23rd, 2024 weekend.
The first movie of the franchise, Despicable Me, came out in 2010 and followed the villain Gru and his attempt to steal the moon with the help of his minions. The movie was very successful, pulling in over $540 million worldwide. This led to the subsequent sequels, which also did well.
The upcoming movie will have Steve Carrell (Gru), Kristen Wig (Lucy), Pierce Coffin (multiple), Miranda Cosgrove (Margo), and Steve Coogan (Silas Ramsbottom) return for their roles. Chris Renaud, who directed the first two in the franchise, is set to direct the fourth film.
