Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. have already begun discussing a sequel to The Batman. The upcoming movie starring Robert Pattinson as Batman seems to have had a good early response, which is why this discussion has already begun.
A few years ago, when this project was first announced, it was indicated that it would be a trilogy, but as we know, nothing is certain in the entertainment industry. Projects get started and scrapped fairly regularly. This is exciting news for Batman fans as this means we’ll get to see more of Reeves’ world fleshed out.
What’s also intriguing about the upcoming Batman movie is that it has been described as a noir film that has Batman in it. This would be very cool because we rarely get to see The World’s Greatest Detective live up to that title in any of the live action films.
In terms of the sequel, Matt Reeves has potentially been thinking about how Mr. Freeze might fit into the world. If he were to include Mr. Freeze, that would be very interesting because Mr. Freeze is rarely used even though he’s a complex character. He’s not fully a villain and his backstory is tragic and his character could definitely be empathized with.
We are now just 8 days away from the official premiere of The Batman! The movie features Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Alex Ferns, and more. Matt Reeves is the director, writer, and producer of the film so what we see on screen will truly be his vision. No director cuts will need to be demanded by fans thankfully. With a runtime of nearly 3 hours, The Batman is sure to be a treat. I’m very excited to watch this film. You can view the trailer below.
